This month, Pyrox bv put the first oven on South African soil into operation, at the company Trans Vaal Electric Ltd.
Trans Vaal Electric (TVE) is an electrical company founded in 1939 and engaged in the design, development, manufacture and repair of rotating electrical machines.
The company produces electric motors that are used in a variety of applications in countries such as South Africa, the USA, Australia and China. This year a new state-of-the-art repair facility was put into operation in which our Pyrox oven has taken a perfect place.
Before electric motors can be rewound, the older copper windings must first be removed. These motors (up to class 200 - 220) are placed in the oven and are thermally treated so that all resins, varnishes and insulation materials are subsequently pyrolyzed (pulverized).
Due to the low oxygen content in the oven room, no ignition will occur during the pyrolysis process, which means that no hotspots will be formed in the lamination package!
After this process, the lamination has to be cleaned and the motor can be rewound.
The custom-made oven is equipped with a cart with an electric drive.
